You know, Gods temple doesn't neccessarily have to be a BUILDING. I realized that this morning. I went to the beach at 5:30am this morning, in order to do some fishing. Now, we were going to Palm Beach Island to do this. And those who know...know. Man, the cops on the Island are INSANE. Going there to fish is like a spy mission. You practically have to do a tuck-and-roll out of the car to unload and get parked. (If you aren't a resident of the Island.)
So usually I wont go through the hassle. But today we did and man am I glad. From start to finish, it was simply a great day!
We got unloaded and parked without any tickets. We got across the dunes without anybody seeing the spears. (Thats right damn it. We cavemen and still fish the old fashioned way sometimes.) The water was like glass. Nothing even remotely resembling a wave. Like glass. There were 2 freighters and one cruise liner off the coast, anchored. So the lights were shining off the horizon.....
Well, I sat on the sand and just watched the sun rise. (I had a nice early morning toke too...) And I realized that without question Gods work is mighty. At that point I was thinking it was just the weed making me all deep and thoughtful, so I didn't give it much more thought.
So after the sun rose enough to see, I donned the ole' mask, snorkle and flippers and off I went, spear in hand. Within seconds I was in a huge school of fish. It was crazy. Hundreds of them. Some fatties too. LUNCH! DINNER! MIDNIGHT MUNCHIES!
But I couldn't shoot. Just watching them in motion was amazing to me. They were so graceful...fluid. (I wondered if any of them understood how low they are on the food-chain) In a flash they were gone though, so off I went. I swam for about 20 minutes when out of the blue came three Dolphins. (Flipper Dolphins, not the fish...) They circled us for a good 10 minutes and it was so freakin' cool!
No sooner did they leave that 3 huge Ray's came gliding along! Beautuiful creatures, Rays. And curious I found. They just sorta went in circles and, well, watching them really was amazing.
I don't know. I'm not the sentimental type. I'm a practical type of dude. But God showed me his power and beauty today. He MADE me see it. And he made me realize that his temples can be found in many ways and in many places. Personally, Jesus Christ is my Savior. Christianity is my faith.
God is great.
I never did shoot a fish. I didn't even try.
But tomorrow their doomed to my plate.
I swear, the fish i'm going to catch will be thiiiiiiiiiis big.....
